After more than a decade of activity in Poland, the EuropeanInvestment Bank’s operations now cover a wide range ofeconomic sectors ranging from basic infrastructure, manufac-turing and services, including support for small and medium-sized companies through local financial institutions, to educationand promotion of a knowledge-based economy. Overall, theseoperations have grown from small beginnings to an expectedtotal of nearly EUR 9 bn by the end of 2004.
