Information Society Policy Link ropean Society: Culture & Multilingualism Technology challenges for digital culture Through an extensive foresight and technology watch programme, DIGICULTis helping Europe's cultural institutions become more adaptable and innovative. help decision-makers in the cultural heritage sector to build and exploit the emerging digital landscape, the 1ST Τ Programme commissioned a major foresight study looking at trends in the European cultural heritage sector over the next five years. The resulting report, known as the DigiCULT Report, provides a strategic roadmap for future developments. Building on these findings, DIGICULT-FORUM was launched. This is a network of 50 culture and technology experts that monitors technological trends and related issues affecting the future of the European cultural heritage sector. Through publications and workshops it helps practitioners to identify key issues, find solutions and apply them in their own situations. A series of Technology Watch reports identify and describe technologies that are either not currently used or are underutilised by the heritage sector.
