FromthepointofviewofthehistoryofreligionIwouldassign
theliturgicaltextstothesecondgroupinorderofimportance.
Surprisinglyfewfragmentsfromthelongcanonicaldailyprayer
serviceshavebeenfound.Infact,aboutalloftheperfected
liturgiessuchasweknowtheSumeriantemplestohavepossessed
belongtothecultsofdeifiedkings.Intheentirereligious
literatureofNippur,notoneapproximatelycompletecanonical
prayerservicehassurvived.Onlyfragmentsbearwitnessto
theirexistenceinthepublicsongservicesofthegreattemples
