MGCC STANDINGRACE REGULATIONS 2005 These Standing Regulations apply to all MG Car Club Race meetings and carry the same force as the Supplementary Regulations and Final Instructions for the meeting. References to MSA Regulations refer to the 2005 edition of the MSA Competitors’ Yearbook. 1. ENTRIES Entries are at the discretion of the Organisers and are accepted in order of receipt unless Championship regulations state otherwise. Receipt of entries will be acknowledged by postcard, acceptance confirmed with the issue of Final Instructions mailed approx 10 days prior to the Meeting. Incomplete entry forms or copies of documents mentioned in 3 below not accepted. Entry forms without the appropriate entry fee will not be considered in accordance with B 9.1. Faxed and email entries will be accepted in accordance with B 9.2. 2. ENTRYFEE REFUNDS Prior to closing date in full less £25handling charge; after closing date and up to 72 hours before the Meetingin full less 50%;reserves who practice but do not race due to oversubscribed gridsin full less the MSA per capita charges. All requests for refunds must be in writing. 3. SIGNINGON Please sign on in the Paddock Office before Scrutineering and produce the following: MSA Competition Licence/Medical Certificate properly endorsed, signed and with photograph attached; MG. Car Club or invited Club membership card; Championship Registration Card if appropriate. 4. COMPETITIONLICENCES In accordance with MSA regulations, all Competition Licences/Medical Certificates must be deposited at Signingon, these can be collected from the Paddock office when results are final for the competitor’s last race entered. S. SCRUTINEERING Please present your car at the Scrutineering Bay in a clean condition (E.5.l.2.) and produce your crash helmet, visor or goggles and racing overalls for inspection. Cars must have competition numbers properly presented at Scrutineering (J.12). Cars driven by holders of Restricted Licences and novices must carry the correct identification cross (J.12.3. & E. 11.3.11). 6.NUMBERS Cars will be identified by numbers and attention is drawn to J.12.1.1 to J.12.3. Numbers, roundels and novice crosses will be on sale in the Paddock Office.

7. CLOTHING Regulation J. 11.1.1 stipulates that the wearing of fire resistant overalls is mandatory. Flame retardant underwear, gloves, balaclavas, socks and shoes are recommended.

8. PRACTICE Form up in the Assembly Area I5 minutes before the start of your Practice. After Practice return to the Paddock as directed by the marshals.

9. DRIVERS’BRIEFINGS Awritten Driver’s Briefing Notice may be handed to you at SigningOn. If it is considered necessary to have a verbal Briefing, notice of this will be posted in the Paddock Office and PA announcements made. Novice drivers and those who have not raced at the circuit before will be notified of time and place for a mandatory briefing before practice. Failure to attend a Briefing may result in a fine or endorsement (C 5.4.10)

10. GRIDFORMATIONIRESERVES Where the number of entries received exceeds the maximum number of starters allowed, the Organisers will nominate reserves in the order of receipt of entries (or as per Championship Regulations) and they will be eligible to take the place of nonstarters in order of nomination.

11. STARTPOSITIONS These will be determined by practice times in accordance withJ.13.6.2. Drivers must complete at least 3 practice laps to qualify for a place on the grid in accordance with J.13.6.7. Drivers practising out of session or who qualify only through familiarity of the circuit, will be placed at the back of the grid without a delayed start or penalty in accordance with J 4.4.2.

12. STARTPROCEDURE NO ONE is permitted on the grid apart from authorised Officials. Cars will be released from the Assembly Area in grid formation and will proceed to the grid maintaining formation. Engines must be kept running. Visual signals will be displayed at 1 minute and at 30 seconds. The green flag will indicate the commencement of the formation lap. The pole position Driver will set the pace and cars will maintain grid formation. Any competitor indulging in practice starts or excessive weaving (defined as using more than 50% of the width of the track) may be liable to a penalty. At the end of the formation lap cars will again form up on the grid with engines running. The 5 seconds board will indicate that all cars arc stationery and that the starting signal is imminent. Approximately 5 seconds after the 5 seconds board the red lights will be switched on and the start of the race will be given when the red lights are extinguished after not less than 2 seconds and not more than 7 seconds. (Lights changing from red to green are no longer used). Should there be a failure of the starting lights or any other problems, the Start Delayed board will be shown, the start procedure will be repeated following a briefing. The red lights will be substituted by the raising of the Union Flag and the green lights by the lowering of the Union Flag.

13. RACE STOPS Should the need arise to stop any race or practice, RED LIGHTS will be switched on at the Start line and RED FLAGS will be displayed at the Start line and at all Marshals Signalling Points around the Circuit. This is the signal for all drivers to cease circulating at racing speeds, to slow to a safe and reasonable pace and to return to the starting grid area, which will automatically become a Parc Ferme area. Cars may not enter the Pits unless directed to do so. Work on cars already in the Pits must cease when a race is stopped.If less than two laps are completed by the race leader the race will be null and void.The race will restart from the original grid positions. Competitors unable to take the restart may be replaced by reserves who will start from the back of the grid in reserve order. Gaps on the grid should not be closed up. The length of the restarted race will be determined by the Clerk of the Course. If more than two laps are completed by the race leader but less than 50% of its distance or duration, the race will start from a grid set out by the finishing order of part one (as per J 5.4.3). The result of the race will be the finishing order at the end of part 2. The length of the restarted race will be determined by the Clerk of the Course. If the leader has completed more than 50% of the race distance or duration, it shall not be restarted and the results will be declared in accordance with MSA Regulation J.5.4.4.

14. FLAG SIGNALS Yellow flags will be used in accordance with J.16, a stationary yellow flag will precede the display of a waved yellow flag prior to the scene of an incident. In such circumstances competitors must slow down considerably and be prepared to suddenly change from the projected racing line. There must be NO OVERTAKING in the areas controlled by yellow flags until the green flag is passed after the incident.

15. TYRES In accordance with J.13.8.4. it is not permitted to change tyres between leaving the Assembly Area and the start of the race except in the case of force majeur (puncture or obvious damage) or if the Clerk of the Course confirms that there has been a weather change. No artificial heating devices may be used during this period.

16. KERBS Drivers consistently crossing the kerbs/grass will be shown a black/white diagonal flag advising them that they are being specially observed and if their action persists they will be blackflagged.

17. RESULTS AND PROTESTS Provisional results will be published as soon as possible after each race. These and practice/qualifying times remain provisional subject to technical eligibility cheeks and/or judicial enquiries. Protests must be lodged in accordance with 0.5.1 to 0.5.7.

18. PENALTIES These will be as printed in the appropriate section of the MSA General Regulations.

19. GARLANDS At the conclusion of racing the overall winner is requested to stop in the Pit Lane after the slowing down lap for the presentation of a garland and an interview. (Collect your garland from the Paddock Office if you do not receive it in the Pit Lane). All other competitors should exit the Circuit as per Practice.

20. DRIVERTESTS Your attention is drawn to B.12.1.13. “The Organisers may, at their discretion, exclude before, during or after practice or competition any Driver considered as possibly unfit by reason of health, consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances etc. Tests may be carried out at any time by a Medical Officer under the authority of the Clerk of the Course.” In addition B.20 and E.10 should be noted: “Any form of doping is strictly forbidden including the use of alcohol.”

21. CANCELLATION The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or abandon the Meeting or any part thereof, amalgamate races or classes as necessary in which case the competitor has no right or claim against the Organisers in respect of any loss or expense he may thereby incur.

22. ANIMALS Animals will not be admitted into the Circuit.

CIRCUIT NOTICES

23. SALES SITES All merchandising rights belong to the Circuit, any competitor found to be selling without prior authorisation will be liable to immediate payment of the relevant sales site fees before being allowed to practice or race.

24. PADDOCK Please drive slowly, park neatly, no marking of the Paddock surface, deposit waste oil in bins provided. Any person damaging the paddock surface my be excluded from the event and shall be subject to pay liquidated damages of £500. Similarly the circuit owner may seek damages in the event of excessive cleaning up operations caused through bad car preparation of negligence.

25. ALL VEHICLES INCLUDING MOTORCYCLES Motorcycles and other vehicles may NOT be driven within the confines of the Circuit property by persons not in possession of a valid and appropriate licence. At no time may any vehicle (including competition cars) be driven along the pits road in the reverse direction unless specifically directed by an official. Noncompeting motorcycles or cycles may not be driven along the pit road at any time.

26. FUEL Four Star leaded and unleaded petrol is usually on sale in the Paddock (check facilities and opening times with circuit). Containers must bear the words “PETROLEUM SPIRITINFLAMMABLE” and have stoppers/screw lids. Any competitor reported to be spilling oil or fuel on the circuit will be blackHIGHLY flagged and not allowed back onto the circuit until this has been rectified. Should any competitor concerned ignore the black flag the practice session or race will be halted and the offending vehicle removed from the Circuit. The competitor shall be liable for any costs involved in track damage repairs arising from these circumstances.

27. BARBCUES AND NAKED FLAMES Barbcues and naked flames are not permitted at anytime within the Circuit, property or grounds.

28. IN CAR VIDEO Any competitor wishing to carry onboard video equipment must obtain from the organising Club a copy of the Circuit Authorisation form and have this signed before practice and pay the appropriate fee to the Circuit if applicable. Such equipment must be in place at Scrutineering and be passed as being suitably and safely mounted.

29. PITS For insurance reasons no children under the age of 16 are permitted in the Pits or Race Assembly areas. Smoking is not permitted in the Pits/Garages. With the exceptions of two crew personnel per competitor, no other persons are allowed on the Pit Road during Practice or Racing. Contravention of this rule will result in the disqualification of the Driver. All signalsmustbe given from behind the rail on the Pit Wall. NO PERSONS ARE ALLOWED ON THE PIT WALL DURING THE START OF EACH RACE.

30. INDEMNITIES No claim can be made against the Club, the circuit owner or their agents in the event of damage being caused to a vehicle as part of the recovery process.

31. HOSPITALITY Hospitality may only be provided by competitors to its team members or sponsors in possession of a pass issued by the circuit owner to the Club to a maximum area of 10 sq metres per competitor. The circuit owner may charge the competitor at a rate of £5 + VAT per sq metre for areas exceeding this size. Please keep this copy of the MGCC Standing Regulations for the 2005 season.
