We offer 3.5 year accountancy training programmes.     Our graduate programme is based around on-the-job training, which is tiered each year so trainees build on both their work experience and study courses, gaining responsibility and challenges as your confidence grows. All trainees are mentored by senior staff so you always have someone you can go to with any query (large or small) in an informal and friendly way. Trainees are core members of each project team and work with senior team members on a range of live projects, interacting with clients, government agencies and other professional service firms. We also pride ourselves on our open door policy and direct access for all staff to the partners.  Exam and course fees are paid as are subsistence expenses for attending courses outside Limerick. We expect and support all our staff to expand their skill set and keep abreast of industry developments through in-house presentations, research and attending accredited continuing professional development (“CPD”) courses.  TRAINEE ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION We are hiring up totrainee accountants in our Auditing and General3 Practice Department and in our Corporate Rescue & Insolvency (CR&I) Department to start in September 2010.We are looking for motivated, highly numerate graduates with an excellent academic record in accounting and other technical subjects such as finance, statistics, economics and the ability to apply this learning in an analytical manner.  CR&I traineeswork on a variety of assignments including:  Restructuring such as Examinerships and informal schemes of arrangement  Receiverships, which will give trainees exposure to a range of industries, quickly, and the opportunity to gain unique operational insight.
 
 Supporting senior staff with investigation work and the production of official reports in Court and creditors’ liquidations.  CR&I trainees can undertake either the ACCA or ACA qualification.  Audit traineesgain exposure to all areas of audit and accounts including:  Company audit Company secretarial    Audit exemption Corporation taxation!    Accounts preparation Audit trainees undertake the ACA qualification    KEY SKILLS Numeracy:Ideally we are looking for students with either honours in higher level    mathematics or an A in ordinary level mathematics in the Leaving Certificate, and exceptional results in quantitative, accounting, analytical and computational subjects at undergraduate or post-graduate level.    Leadershiplooking for smart people with inquiring minds who are: we are  "  willing to take on responsibility and lead assignments. Leadership isn’t just about having a team of people underneath you it requires independence of thought,  self-confidence, conviction and the ability to motivate and listen to others.#   All our staff work within a supportive team structure, and must begood team players but also when given an assignment your ability to take ownership, run with it and suggest solutions to any issues which may arise is crucial to the effectiveness of your team and meeting deadlines.$     You will berelied uponby your co-workers and managers and they need to trust yourattention to detail,work ethicand ability tothink logically.You need tobe calm, able to take the long view sometimes working under pressure and to !   tight deadlines but never at the expense of accuracy.   A basic determinant of your leadership skills is your ability tocommunicate. You must be clear, accurate and concise with your co-workers, managers, partners$ and clients. This includes direct one-to-one conversations, telephone calls, internal meetings as well as in more formal settings such as presentations or client briefings.  Writing:producing clear, well structured, error-free documents is paramount to present yourself - and the firm - in a professional manner.
