Frédérique SACHWALD

Dr. Frédérique Sachwald

is Head of the company R&D unit and advisor to the Strategy Direction

at the French Ministry of research. She was formerly Head of economic studies at IFRI in Paris

and has tought in various insitutions. She studied at the

Institut d’Etudes Politiques

and

Ecole des

Hautes

Etudes en Sciences Sociales

in Paris, and at Cambridge University (UK).

She has worked in the fields of industrial and international economics and has explored several

aspects of globalization and its impact on domestic economies. She has also studied the

development of global production and innovation networks by multinationals and their impact on

trade, knowledge flows and local economies.

Dr. Frédérique Sachwald writes in various journals. A recent article, “Location Choices within

Global Innovation Networks” is forthcoming in the

Journal of Technology Transfer

and her

latest study on world trade will be available on Ifri’s website (
