PressreleaseThursdayApril30,2009SignatureofanationalframeworkagreementbetweentheCarrefourGroupandPôleemploiCécileCloarec,HumanResourcesDirectoroftheCarrefourGroupandChristianCharpy,DirectorGeneralofPôleemploi,havetodaysignedanationalframeworkagreementaimedataffirmingthesolidarityofthepartnershipbetweentheCarrefourGroupandPôleemploiandmaximizingthecollaborationestablishedpreviouslythroughagreementswithlargeGroupentities:CarrefourHypermarkets,Champion/CarrefourMarketsupermarketsandmostrecentlyEd.Thisagreementaimstostrengthenjointinitiativestohelpjobseekersestablishthemselvesintheworkplace,particularlythosewhohavedifficultyaccessingthemarket.ItalsosetsoutthepositionsandvaluessharedbytheGroupandPôleemploiinrespectofdiversity,equalopportunityandsecuringcareerpathways.TheCarrefourGroupisFrance’sleadingprivateemployer.Owingtoitssubstantialrecruitmentneedsandthevarietyofitsdisciplines,itisakeyplayerinhelpingpeopletoentertheworkplaceinmajoremploymentmarkets.Francehasanumberofwide‐rangingactionplanssetuptohelpyoungpeopleanddisabledworkersenterorre‐entertheworkplace:thesegroupshavebenefitedfromnumerousinitiativesdevelopedbyGroupentitiesinconjunctionwithPôleemploi.Soin2008,theCarrefourGrouprecruited4,000youngpeoplefromdisadvantagedneighbourhoodsaspartoftheEspoirBanlieuesplan.566ofthemwereintroducedbyPôleemploi.Carrefouralsoemployed560disabledworkers,over300ofwhomwereintroducedbyPôleemploi.Moreover,PôleemploiandtheCarrefourRecruitmentAreaprovideaneffectivesourceofstaffforCarrefourHypermarkets.Pôlesemploiintendtodevelopvideo‐conferencesystemstoenabletherecruitmentprocesstobecarriedoutremotely:theprovisionofmassinformationandtheholdingofremoteface‐to‐faceinterviewsbyrecruitmentmanagersfromtheRecruitmentArea.In2008,Carrefourhypermarketsintegratedintotheirteams13,518jobseekerswhohadbeenintroducedbyPôleemploi.Ed,theharddiscountbanner,signedapartnershipagreementwithPôleemploiinMarch2009topromoteitsdisciplinesandbusinesslinesandincreasethereliabilityofitsrecruitment.Intotal,Carrefourentitiesreferred21,174jobopportunitiestoPôleemploiin2008andhired16,460candidatesintroducedbyit.TheCarrefourGroupheadsupthelistofFrenchcompaniesofferingemploymenttojobseekers.Inthelightoftheabove,theCarrefourGroupandPôleemploiwishedtoenshrinetheirpartnershipinanationalframeworkagreementrelatingtoandinvolvingallGroupentities.Thisagreementwillenablethemtocontinuetoconsider,discussandundertakepracticalinitiativestopromoteemployment.
