The Chair welcomed Nick Benson Principle Auditor of Derbyshire County Council’s Internal Audit Service. 20/05 MINUTES The Minutes of the Meeting held on 29 April 2005 with the amendment as set out below were approved as a correct record and signed by the Chair. The Director reported on the second stage Internal Audit report for 2004/05 and the

management response to the Audit recommendations.

RESOLVED:

1.

That the second stage Internal Audit report for 2004/5 be received and

the management response noted; that 12 completed items are agreed as

signed off and the 14 outstanding items be brought forward in the

Progress report to the September 2005 Committee.

2.

That the Committee formally thanks John White for his positive and

helpful contribution during the period he has performed the Audit

Manager role for the Authority.

REPORT OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE

7.1 RISK MANAGEMENT PROGRESS REPORT (A.91941/AC)

This report informed the Committee of progress on risk management since the District

Auditor s report and the improvement plan were considered by the Committee in May 2004.

RESOLVED:

1.

That progress on the Action Plan in Appendix A to the Report be noted.

2.

That the further actions in the Action Plan in Appendix A to the Report

be agreed.

3.

That completion dates be shown in future Action Plans.

4.

That officers consider and report back on how the Risk Register can be

reported to the Committee on a regular basis.

JOINT REPORT OF THE CHAIR OF THE TASK TEAM WITH THE DIRECTOR OF

RECREATION & EDUCATION

8.1 LOSEHILL HALL STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND PERFORMANCE REVIEW

INTERIM REPORT OF MEMBERS TASK TEAM (A.164/BN/JNT)

This report brought Members up to date with progress being made by the Members

Task Team, set up to consider, in greater detail, selected issues emanating from the

strategic review of the Losehill Hall Environmental Learning Services and of the

Environmental Education Service.

Barry Neville, Chair of the Task team, introduced the report and thanked the staff for

their contribution.

The Committee considered the report in detail debating various issues that had

emerged from the Task Team s work.

RESOLVED:

1.

That the Interim Report from the Losehill Hall Members Task Team be

received.

2.

That the Committee thanks the Task Team, especially Barry Neville the

Chair, for producing a comprehensive report.

3.

That the Task Team looks at and reports back on the provision of

Environmental Education Services in other National Parks where property

does not form part of delivering the service.

4.

That officers prepare “Ground Rules for the scrutiny process for future

Task Teams, liaising with the Chair of the Losehill Hall Task Team.
