ISSN 10226559 21 September 1998 The tontents of this bulletin are based on RTD-News, updated every day, and other CORDIS databases EU YOUNG SCIENTISTS CONTEST The tenth EU Young Scientists Contest is being held in Porto, Portugal, from 20 to 27 September 1998. This annual contest is organised within the framework of the EU's Training and Mobility of Researchers programme (TMR) and will showcase the best in European student scientific achievement. It brings together the winners of national competitions in 30 countries, as well as the winners of the US INTEL Science and Engineering Fair, who will attend as special guest scientists, and guest observers from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Latin America. During the contest, a scientific exhibition comprising 57 high Training and Youth, Mrs Edith Cresson, who stated, "The youth quality scientific projects will be open to the public. Follow of today will be the driving force to take our continent to the ing the exhibition of all the projects, three first prizes of ECU next millennium. The contest is an excellent means to high5,000, three second prizes of ECU 3,000 and six third prizes light the talent of these young innovators and to forge links of ECU 1,500 will be awarded.
