To give you an idea of what to expect, here are just a few of the FAQs asked by stem cell patients:
Where do the stem cells come from?
Many of the older patients seeking stem cell treatment remember the many debates back in the 80s and 90s over embryonic stem cell research. Their first inquiries into stem cell injections are guided by the misconception that the material their doctors use comes from human embryos.
The procedures we teach confine treatment to autologous stem cells. In other words, your patients will be donating their own stem cells for treatment. The use of autologous material greatly reduces the chances of complications. It all but eliminates the potential for rejection.
How are the stem cells harvested?
Patients have a legitimate concern over how stem cells will be harvested. Some procedures call for a bone marrow blood draw, other procedures rely on stem cells taken from fat tissue. The extraction procedure in both cases is very similar to a typical blood draw. It is all done with needle and syringe.
What will the stem cells do for me?
Media reports do not do stem cell therapy justice. As such, a lot of people come in to treatment with strange ideas of what stem cells are going to do for them. Right off the bat, your patients need to know that stem cells are not a miracle elixir capable of curing any disease or healing every injury overnight.
Stem cell injections do two things. First, they alert the body to begin its own natural healing process at the site of injury or disease. Second, they provide some of the raw material the body needs to begin healing. In the end, it is the body that naturally heals itself. Stem cell injections are essentially the fuel for doing so.
How many injections will I need?
Patients understandably want to know how many injections they will need for their particular condition. This is a question every doctor should be prepared to answer. However, note that there is no black and white answer for every patient. Each person who receives stem cell injections responds differently.
You will learn through our training the average number of injections needed for a typical treatment. You will learn through time and experience the number injections it will likely take to treat a specific condition in a specific patient. Over time you will become very adept at offering your patients reasonably accurate prognoses.
There are certainly more questions your patients will ask you during consultation for stem cell therapy. Again, you will learn everything you need to know when you come to training. We are looking forward to working with you during your session.
If you are intrigued by stem cell therapy but haveŶot yet sigŶed up foƌ tƌaiŶiŶg, ǁhat’s holdiŶg you ďaĐk? ARMI has numerous training sessions already scheduledaŶd still ŵoƌe to Đoŵe. Theƌe’s ƌooŵ foƌ you to joiŶ us.
