Information Society Policy Link Governance: Justice, Freedom & Security One-stop-shop for case law By improving access to national case law across Europe, CASELEX is expected to have a major impact on the reuse of legal public sector information. project will collect and distribute case law from 10 European countries. To achieve this it will set up a European case law backbone, accessing and converting the comprehensive base of case law into easily obtainable and usable knowledge for open distribution through intermediaries and directly to end-users. The project is based on a strong public/private partnership involving specialised legal publishers, business publishers, law firms, courts services and academic institutions. Partners include major public bodies such as Direction des Journaux Officiels from France, Ministerio della Giustizia from Italy, and Cour de Cassation from Belgium. The European Association of Judges is also associated to the project. CASELEX is expected to have a major impact on the reuse of legal public sector information, to the benefit of the legal community and European society at large.
