F O O DI M P O R T S In general, you cannot bring with you any meat or dairy products into the EU, nor can such products be sent by post.
These products will be seized and destroyed on arrival. If you do not declare such items, you may be fined or face criminal prosecution.
However, you can bring in small quantities for personal consumption from Andorra, Croatia, the Faeroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, San Marino and Switzerland. If you want to bring small quantities of products of animal origin other than meat and dairy products - honey, eggs, fish, etc. - for personal consumption, please check the rules with the competent authority.
P E TI M P O R T S To import a cat, dog or ferret into the EU, requirements vary depending on where you travelling to and from. In general the animal will need Veterinary Certification, identification and valid anti-rabies vaccination. Some Member States impose additional conditions. Ask your vet or national authorities for more information.
If you break these rules, your pet may be sent back, or isolated and quarantined under official control. As a last resort, your pet may be put down.
