December 15, 2005 Los Angeles City Draft Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Public Comment Period: December 21, 2005 – February 1, 2006 The City of Los Angeles draft Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing (AI) is available for review and written comment from December 21, 2005 – February 1, 2006. Fair Housing refers to non-discrimination in housing as prohibited under State, Federal, and local laws on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, familial status (children), mental and physical disability, marital status, sexual orientation, age, ancestry, source of income, color, and other arbitrary bases. The AI includes a review of Los Angeles City demographics, public policies, lending practices, and housing discrimination. It identifies impediments to fair housing in the City and recommends actions to overcome the impediments. The City will develop a fair housing action plan based on the Analysis of Impediments and public comments. We encourage you or your organization to participate in this process.
