Zwei wenig bekannte Apotheker des 19. Jahrhunderts : Pierre und Adrien Bories.
Pierre Bories (geboren am 18. Oktober 1785 in St. Laurent de Cabrerisse-gestorben am 21. Februar 1842 in Montpellier) begann seine Laufbahn als Militärapotheker in Italien und wurde später ordentlicher Professor an der medizinischen Fakultät von Montpellier, einer Stadt, in der er gleichzeitig eine Apotheke besass. Wir verdanken ihm eine Pharmakopoeia von Montpellier. Er entdeckte die desinfizierenden Eigen- schaften des Kalziumchlorats.
Adrien Bories, sein Sohn, (geboren in Montpellier am 9. Juli 1822-gestorben in Bandol am 2. April 1908) war Marinearzt. Seine mannigfaltige Tätigkeit in Frankreich und den Kolonien brachten ihn hauptsächlich zu der Réunion-insel, wo er durch die Bereicherung der Materia Medica sehr zur kulturellen Entwicklung dieser Insel beitrug. Später übte er das Amt des Chefapothekers der Krankenhäuser von Montpellier aus.
Two little-known apothecaries of the 19th century : Pierre and Adrien Bories.
Pierre Bories (born at St.-Laurent de Cabrerisse on 18 October 1785-died at Montpellier on 21 February 1842) had a first career as a military pharmacist in Italy before obtaining a professorship at the Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier, in which city he simultaneously kept a small pharmacy. We owe him a Pharmacopoeia of Montpellier, and he was the first to discover the disinfectant properties of calcium chloride.
Adrien Bories, his son (born at Montpellier on 9 July 1822-died at Bandol on 2 April 1908), was a naval physician. Notable among his manifold activities in France and the Colonies is his valuable contribution to the cultural development of the island of La Réunion, in the process of enriching its materia medica. He subsequently assumed the post of Chief Pharmacist of the Hospitals of Montpellier.
