Die Hundertjahrfeier des Gebrauchs von Kokaïn und Lokalanesthetika in der Augenheilkunde (1884-1984).
Nachdem Sie einige wesentliche Begriffe über die Lokalanesthesie, den Kokabaum und Koka, die Alkaloïden une die Koka, endlich über das Kokaïn vor seinem Gebrauch als Augenlokalanesthetikum in Erinnerung bringen, tragen die Autoren die Umständen der Entdeckung 1884 durch Karl Koller (1857-1944) vor, sowie den Streit über die Priorität dieser Entdeckung... welche Sigmund Freud hätte machen können. Sie zeigen die schnelle Ausbreitung der Lokal-anesthesie durch Kokaïnchlorhydrat, welcher das Erscheinen zahlreicher anderen synthetischen Lokalanesthetika folgte.
The centenary of the use of cocaine and local anaesthetics in ophthalmology.
After having discussed the essential concepts of local anaesthesia, the coca shrub and coca, alkaloids and coca, and finally cocaine before its use as an ocular anaesthetic, the authors discuss the circumstances of the discovery of this utilisation in 1884 by Karl Koller (1857-1944) and the discussions relative to the priority of this discovery, ... which might have been made by Sigmund Freud. They show the rapidly expanded use of local anaesthesia by chlorhydrate of cocaine, followed by the appearance of numerous other synthetic local anaesthetics.
