Louis-Marie Gessard, Apotheker und Gemeinderat von Saint-Denis.
Die Autoren heben die beispielhaften Eigenschaften von Louis-Marie Gessard hervor, ein Militärapotheker, welcher später ins Zivilleben zurückkehrte und sich, in zwei Gelegenheiten, in seiner Eigenschaft als beigeordneter Bürgermeister von Saint-Denis, besonders auszeichnete. 1814, als die verbündeten Heere diese Stadt angriffen, bewies Er eine grosse Tatkraft und ein beispielhaften Mut. 1837, spielte Er eine aktive Rolle anlässlich der Uebertragung der Aschen der Könige von Frankreich in die Abtei von Saint-Denis. Er war auch ein wohlerfahrener Apotheker, und ein guttätiger Mensch.

The authors attempt to clearly illustrate the exceptional qualities of Louis-Marie Gessard, military pharmacist, who returned to civilian life and distinguished himself on two occasions while he was Adjoint-Mayor of Saint-Denis. In 1814, during the attak on the city by the coalition armies, he proved himself to be a man of exceptional force and exemplary courage. In 1837, he played an active role in having the ashes of the kings of France transported to the abbey of Saint-Denis. He was also a skilled pharmacist and a charitable man.
