Treatment of infectious and contagious illnesses in the beginning of the 19th century in the Limoges region.
In earlier times, the two great calamities suffered by the population were famine and epidemics. How did the authorities and public health officials react against the second of these scourges ? Documents are brought to light concerning a raging epidemic in the Limoges region in the very beginning of the 19th century. Analysis of these local archives gives evidence of the ridiculous measures available at the time.

Die zwei von der Bevölkerung früher erlebten grossen Plagen waren Hungersnot und Epidemien. Wie reagierten Behörden und Sanitätswesen gegen das zwei te dieser Unheile ? Dieses wird eben beschrieben an Hand von Dokumente welche eine Seuche betreffen in der Gegend von Limoges, ganz am Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Untersuchung zeigt wie ärmlich die Mittel waren die damais zu Verfugung standen.

Treatment of infectious and contagious illnesses in the beginning of the 19th century in the Limoges region.
