Presentation with comments of a prescription from Masson-Grandjean, surgeon and oculist, dated June 23, 1812, for a captain of the Imperial Guard suffering from ambliopia. The prescription essentially calls for applying leeches to the anus, drinking a bitter soup made of plants and wood-lice as well as an infusion of borage and euphrasia, inhalation of alcoholic vapours, application of a blister to the neck, and warm foot baths.
