ANNEX 1 - CONSULTANTS OF THE STUDY
ANNEX II - LIST OF PROJECTS EVALUATED OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
On behalf of the BRITE-EURAM (DG XII) and VALUE (DG XIII) programmes, the study aimed at evaluating
207 RTD finished projects and proposing recommendations for future actions of BRITE-EURAM and VALUE.
The projects were evaluated on the following points:
• technological performance
• direct and indirect contribution to European competitiveness
• impact on the SMEs
• impact on the quality of life
• support needed for the exploitation and dissemination of results
• management procedures and methods.
ORGANIZATION OF THE STUDY
The study was carried out in two phases:
• the first covered 75 projects finishing in 1990, i.e. the earliest projects of the Programme
• the second covered 132 projects finishing in 1991.
Compared with the first phase, the second phase:
• benefitted from the experience gained during the first phase
• used a larger set of indicators
• used more standardized evaluation and reporting procedures
• was concerned with a larger number of projects and produced more reliable results.
