anmakesordinaryimpossibletheGrassmannian,constructionasdescribofanedaboanalogueveforofLtheattN(functionR)insidefield
case.Thenaturalstrategy,pursuedbyHaboush,istoidentifylattices
inthep-adicsituationwithcertainsubvarieties(‘latticeschemes’)of
the‘affinespace’W(k)n,andparametrizethesebyaclosedsubscheme
ofa(multigraded)Hilbertscheme.However,itisawell-knownand
vareerynnaturalon-reduced,phenevenomenonifthethatfamilycertainasafiberswholeinisflatreduced.familiesofAndschemesindeed
iivODUCTIONINTRitturnsoutthatHaboush’slatticeschemeswillingeneralcarryin-
finitesimalstructure,withtheconsequencethatthedesiredbijection
(lattices↔latticeschemes)doesnotexist.Therearesimplytoomany
latticeschemeswithdifferentinfinitesimalstructuregivingrisetothe
lattice.sameBeforeweproceedwithadetailledoutlineofthepresentwork,let
usmentionthatSln(L)/Sln(O)isthesetofverticesoftheBruhat-
TitsbuildingBnofSln(L),andweareinfactlookingforageometric
structureonthissetofvertices.In[Ber95]Berkovichdescribesthe
constructionofanequivariantclosedembeddingofBnintotheanalyti-
ficationofthen−1-dimensionalDrinfeldhalfplaneΩn.Thisinduceson
Bnthestructureofananalyticspace.However,thestructurewhichis
inducedonthesetofverticesofBnbythisconstructionisdiscrete,and
thisiscertainlynotwhatwearelookingfor.FordetailsonBerkovich’s
constructionseealsoBerkovich[Ber90]andWerner[Wer04].
Part1.InPart1ofthepresentworkwestudythephenomenonof
infinitesimalstructureonlatticeschemesinasimplifiedsetting,which
ismotivatedbytheWittvectorsituation,butultimatelygivesrise
toobjectswhichareveryclosetoDemazureresolutionsofSchubert
varietiesinthefunctionfieldcase.Muchofthematerialpresented
here,andinparticularthemainresultTheorem0.1below,hasbeen
publishedbytheauthorin[Kre10].
