Description
Vingtième Siècle. Revue d'histoire - Année 1990 - Volume 26 - Numéro 1 - Pages 37-48Fans and hooligans in Great Britain since 1871, Patrick Mignon.English soccer fans come mainly from the working class, which explains their sociological specificities. The hooligans, in particular, demonstrate the survival of the early urban worker violence faced with the upward mobility of the lower classes. The confrontations are not spontaneous. They resuit from a logic of conquest of the other's turf (the ends ) and unfold like genuine premeditated battles. Regional, ethnie or religious particularities meet in an autonomous struggle parallel to the one taking place on the field.12 pagesSource : Persée ; Ministère de la jeunesse, de l’éducation nationale et de la recherche, Direction de l’enseignement supérieur, Sous-direction des bibliothèques et de la documentation.
