Les piles à combustible sont des dispositifsqui permettent de transformer directement l’énergie
chimique potentielle d’un carburant en énergie électrique.Elles sont presque toujours couplées
à un convertisseur de puissanceet l’ensembleest ici appelé « systèmeà pile à combustible». Le
comportement de ces systèmes, les interactions entre ses composants, ainsi que leurs réponses
aux stimulationsextérieuresont été analysés,étudiés et mesurés.A cet effet,un système à pile
à combustible complet a été modélisé. Des critèresde dimensionnement pour cas où ni la pile ànileconvertisseurdepuissancesontàprioriconnusontétéidentifiésetunprototypea
étédimensionnéetréalisé. D’autresaspectscorrélatifsintéressantsontégalementétédéveloppés
et étudiés,comme le fonctionnement du convertisseur à la limite entre les modes de conduction
continuetdiscontinu,ainsiquesoncontrôleà fréquencedecommutationvariable. Desrésultats
expérimentauxetdesimulationpourlesystèmeetpourlesdifférentespartiesdontilestcomposé
sontprésentés.

RIASSUNTO
Lecelleacombustibilesonodeidispositiviincuil’energiachimicapotenzialediuncombustibileè
direttamenteconvertitainenergiaelettrica.Quasisemprelecelleacombustibilesonoaccoppiate
a un convertitoredi potenza e l’insieme è qui chiamato «sistema a celle a combustibile». Il com-
portamentodiquestisistemi,leinterazionitra idiversicomponenti,nonchélelororispostea sti-
moliesternisonostatianalizzati,studiatiemisurati.Atalfine,unsistemacompletoacelleacom-
bustibileèstatomodellizzato. Sonostatiidentificatideicriterididimensionamentopercasiincui
nélacellaacombustibile,néilconvertitoresononotiapriori,eunprototipoèstatodimensionatoe
realizzato. Altriinteressantiaspetticorrelatisonostatisviluppatiestudiati,comeilfunzionamento
delconvertitoredipotenzaallimiteframododiconduzionediscontinuoecontinuo,eilsuocontrollo
afrequenzadicommutazionevariabile. Risultatisperimentaliedisimulazioneperilsistemaele
diversepartichelocompongonosonopresentati.

SUMMARY
Fuelcellsaredevicesinwhichafuel’schemicalpotentialenergyisdirectlyconvertedintoelectrical
energy.Theyarealmostalwayscoupledtoapowerconverterandtheensembleisherecalled“fuel
cellsystem.” Thebehaviourof suchsystems,theinteractionsbetweentheircomponents,andtheir
responsesto externalstimulationshave been analysed,studied and measured.For thispurpose,
acompletefuelcellsystemhasbeenmodelled. Sizingcriteriaforcaseswhereneitherthefuelcell
nor the power converter are a prioriknown have been identified,and a prototypehasbeen sized
andbuilt. Otherinterestingcorrelativeaspectshavealsobeendevelopedandstudied,liketheop-
erationof thepowerconverterontheborderbetweenthediscontinuousandcontinuousconduction
modes,anditscontrolwitha variableswitchingfrequency. Experimentalandsimulationresults
forthesystemandforthedifferentpartsthatcomposeitarepresented.
