But this post is not about fishing, it is about electrical outboard motors. Just about all you need is a boat (obviously), an electric outboard motor and a decent battery. The battery is very essential. If you were to use a standard starter battery, it would fail very quickly. Proper 'leisure' batteries are perfectly capable of deep discharge, and will recover. Starter electric batteries do nothing like, and are unable, of deep discharge on a regular foundation.
