The publications of the institutions and other bodies of the
Community are listed in an annual catalogue of publications and
its quarterly updates.
These catalogues are available from the Office for Official
Publications of the European Communities in Luxembourg, who
will send you regularly each new edition as it appears.
This catalogue is an abridged version. It comprises:
(i) the main official publications of 1984-88,
(ii) the most populars for general information.
The former are on sale at the Office for Official Publications of the
European Communities, L-2985 Luxembourg, and its sales offices
(see addresses on back cover), while the latter may be obtained
from the Directorate-General for Information, Communication and
Culture of the Commission of the European Communities, 200 rue
de la Loi, B-1049 Brussels and from its information offices. The
addresses of these offices are given on page 2 of this catalogue.
Customers are requested to include the catalogue numbers of
publications with their orders.
The information offices also have other publications and documen­
tary material available and may be consulted by the public for
any information on the Community's activities.
Publications for the general public
Most of the publications listed under this heading, which appears
in each subject section of the catalogue, will be supplied free
of charge on request. They can be divided into various groups:
(i) European Documentation. Booklets of 40 to 120 pages con­
taining charts and diagrams and covering the main Community
policies. Objectives, origins, developments and prospects.
(ii) Information or Europe Information. Background briefs on Com­
munity topics. Usually between 8 and 24 pages.
(iii) European file. 12-page pamphlets outlining Community poli­
cies and news.
(iv) Other material not belonging to any collection.
Due to the considerable increase in postal charges and to bud­
getary restrictions we regret that the dispatch of free periodicals
can only be undertaken if such charges are paid by the recipient. Languages
Publications of which English versions have been issued are only
listed in that language, otherwise another version, but only one,
is included, in the following order of choice:
