Revue numismatique - Année 1992 - Volume 6 - Numéro 34 - Pages 229-232Résumé. — The article discusses the limited coinage of Antiochus II (261-246 B.C.) that can securely be attributed to Aegae in Aeolia. The two principal series of Aegae's Seleucid include twenty-two coins that can be divided into nine issues. Western Seleucid Minis 1510, a tetradrachm issue with the obverse representation of Antiochus I and reverse type of Heracles seated on a rock that E. T. Newell gave to Aegeae, is here reassigned to Temnos. The known coins of Aegae now indicate that this city was not acquired by Pergamům until some years after the peace of 252 B.C. that brought an end to the Second Syrian War. 4 pages Source : Persée ; Ministère de la jeunesse, de l’éducation nationale et de la recherche, Direction de l’enseignement supérieur, Sous-direction des bibliothèques et de la documentation.
