Terry Papoutsakis for giving me the opportunity to join his lab for three years and to learn a tremendous amount about science, about proposal writing and how to move on even though experiments didn’t work out. I really appreciated the opportunity to go to scientific conferences, which were good experiences that taught me a lot about how science ‘works’. I’m very glad that I could work both independently and in a team and develop my skills over the three years. I’d like to thank Prof. R. Buchholz for being my co-advisor and for his inspiring lectures at the TU Berlin that encouraged me to pursue my doctorate in the US.
