All flags are distinct with respect to their colors and arrangements yet their shared colors symbolize the shared values of their people and customs. In this book, I have been attempting to demonstrate these unique and beautiful similarities and differences.

This book provided an incredible opportunity for me to combine my passions for art and colors, flags, and so many beautiful customs and cultures all in one collection. Writing this book was truly an incredible journey for me. I hope you feel the same joy from reading and learning and exploring and discussing the different countries that you encounter in this book.

Dedication
I would like to dedicate this book to three incredible women. My dear mother, Maryam and my dear grandmother (my dear nana), Rokeyah both spent most of their lives working very hard to put food on the table and to provide shelter for me. They were never recognized for their sacrifices and they never asked for it. They are both gone but I am determined to keep their names and memories alive.
 
And to my dear Googoosh, the Persian diva. With her beautiful songs and artistic acts, she brought so much joy to our lives. Even my dear nana in her late life was quite taken by Googoosh’s heartfelt songs. She continues to entertain millions of people around the world. This is a small way to thank her for her great works and contributions.
