My Skin
Hey! Did you know that skin comes in many different shades and colours? Some skin is light and some skin is dark. There’s also «in-between» skin. No matter what colour it is, everyone’s skin is very important. Our skin helps to protect us. It lets us know when we are hot or cold, or even when we feel pain. Skin can also tell others a lot about who we are and where we came from. How cool is that!
What is the colour of your skin?

Sign Language
Did you know that not everyone uses their voice to talk? Some people use their hands. Using your hands to talk is called sign language. It’s the only language that can be used by anybody in the world, no matter where you live.
6
Watching a person use their hands to talk is so neat. It is like their hands are dancing! Just like all other languages, learning how to sign takes practice. Best of all, once you learn, you will be able to tell somebody that you love them!
Have you ever seen two people talking like that?

City Living
My family and I live in a very tall building in the middle of the big city. Since we live on the 26 th floor, we have to take the elevator to get to our apartment. One of the things I like most about the city is that it’s always busy and never really quiet. There are people everywhere and cars are always beeping their horns. There’s always something fun to do in the city, like shopping, going out to restaurants or the theatre, or even taking a walk through a city park.
I love city life!

Country Living
Doogan the dog lives in a house with her family. The house is surrounded by fields of green grass, lots of trees, and a small creek. Doogan loves how quiet it is in the country. The only sounds she hears are the chirping of the birds, the squeaking of the squirrels when they’re feeling playful, and the rustling of the leaves when the wind blows. Doogan loves all of the space she has to play, run and explore!
Where do you live?

Pets
There are so many different kinds of pets and not everyone has the same kind. Some of us may have a dog or a cat, while others may have a fish, a turtle or even a snake. No matter what kind of pet you have, all pets need love and someone to take care of them. And guess what? Not all pets need the same kind of care. You would not take a fish for a walk or give her a bath, but you do have to make sure the fish tank is clean and that she is fed every day.
Do you have a pet?
