What made the Renaissance so important that we still learn about it today? It was a time of new ideas, inventions, and scientific discovery. It was a period of people looking toward the past to connect with the possible future. People took chances and accomplished wonderful things.
During this period, there was a great renewal of interest in ancient Rome and Greece. Many of the leaders of the Renaissance, who were born in the different citystates of Italy, found inspiration in these ancient civilizations and wanted to know more by studying the art, architecture, and culture.

From Tough Times To New Discoveries Many historians believe that the Renaissance was a response to the difficult years during the Middle Ages. This period, which came before the Renaissance, was tough for most people.
