Author’s Note
I am an ESOL tutor based in Leeds. I was inspired by the Gatehouse Books I used with my students to write some beginner reading material of my own, using my own photographs and text. I designed them in comic book style, to appeal to a wider audience, and aimed the text at the Entry level ESOL learner.

I deliberately chose an older character for Walt’s Adventures as many of my learners were asking why they didn’t see representations of an older generation in books. My younger students said they could identify with the older character as an elderly, respected family figure.
Special thanks to Walter Rawlinson for volunteering to be part of this book.
I really hope you enjoy reading the story.

It was the middle of summer and Walt was on a mission.

Where did I put it?
It must be here somewhere.

The fruit in his garden was ripe and ready to be picked.
