Somewhere faraway in the universe, there is a place called the Candy Planet. There, a group of fairies live in love and happiness, having all kinds of fun, learning and practicing their magic, and having sports competitions.

There is a lake on the Candy Planet called Love Pool, with water as blue as the sky and waves gently spreading on the peaceful surface. The lake’s surface often reflects rainbows, and lovely plants and animals are everywhere. The fairies of the Candy Planet sleep in the pool just like mermaids, and they can do all kinds of magic with their special powers. They have pets and grow flowers, and they can even travel to other places, such as various countries on Earth!

Preface

During the summer of 2013 and right before her seventh birthday, Sharon went to the beautiful seaside town of Qingdao, China, for a vacation with her mom. Excited by the sea and the fun she had there, she created the story of “Candy Planet” through her dialogue with her mom.
Excited by her creative and imaginative thinking, we recorded her oral stories and converted them into writing, which became the prequel and first season of the book Candy Planet (Chinese version). The book was published in July 2014 and has sold two thousand copies so far. During the summer of 2021, she translated the story into English, which now becomes this book.
The main characters of the stories are fairies living on the Candy Planet, where you will find the Love Pool as well as rainbows and various kinds of magic. In the world of Candy Planet, everyone is full of love and happiness and free from worries. This fairy tale has a unique power that gives you a brand-new perspective, a reflection of a world in the seven-year-old author’s pure and innocent eyes and her young and imaginative mind.
With none of the trouble or worries of the grown-up world, this fairy tale is a precious gift from heaven to a child, and a vivid portrayal of a child’s imagination. When you’re feeling stressed about the grown-up world, the magical words printed on the pages will take you on a relaxing trip to the Candy Planet, a beautiful planet in the universe created by a child.
