On the dark side of a small world, the land was covered with mountains and ice. It was also home to the Pink Ball clan. One day, the clan set out to hunt the yellow beasts of the black plains.

Suddenly there was a stampede, and the clan took shelter in the mountains for safety. During the confusion, one of their young was left behind. When the yellow beasts were gone, the clan began their journey home while the young, little ball remained in hiding.

When it was safe, the little ball climbed up the nearest peak. He could not see any of his clan. He was alone in the cold mountains, and far away from his home. He was afraid, but he knew that he must be brave and begin his journey if he was ever to see his clan again.

He began to carefully make his way down the sharp rocks to the valley below. There was a river there for him to drink from. After he had rested a short time, he continued on. The mountains ahead of him were so big, and he was so small, but he knew that he must be brave and continue on even while feeling small.

Inside the mountains there were many caves of rock and ice. There was one cave that was lit by the moon's light at the other end. As he began to slowly crawl through the winding tunnel, he began to notice a strange shape ahead. What could it be? He began to feel more frightened as he came closer, but he knew that he must be brave, gather his courage, and continue forward to whatever was at the other end.

When the little, brave ball arrived to the other end, he found himself in front of a dreadful thing. It was a snow beast! "Raaaaaaaaar!" it roared. The beast snorted and shook his head, daring the little ball to move. The little ball had never been so afraid in his life, but knew he must be brave. He calmed himself down, took a deep breath. His fear began to leave, and courage swelled up inside of him.

When the little ball was ready, he jumped forward at the snow beast with all the power he had, and landed on its head. Then the ball bounced off the beast's head onto the mountain side. As he jumped from the mountain side, he realized that there was nothing left to land on. He was falling.

As he fell, he sped faster and faster towards the ground. What was he going to do? Who was going to save him? So many questions were in his mind. He felt that he had no more bravery left. He was finished. When he came close to the ground, he closed his eyes tight.

As he hit the ground, he noticed an amazing thing. His shape changed! His round shape became flat and protected him from the great fall. He felt a powerful energy growing deep inside of him.

Then like a rocket, he blasted up towards the moon. He soared up into the sky. The world had never looked as beautiful as it did from way up above. The brave, little ball was filled with joy, and he believed that he would find his home again.

He continued up and over the moon. No one from the Pink Ball clan had ever been this high. Then as he started to come down, a rope was thrown out to him. The brave, little ball quickly grabbed onto it and wrapped it around his body.

A star person had saved him. The brave, little ball was so grateful. Star people were very kind. There had been many stories told about star people saving and protecting the clan when they were in trouble. Now the brave, little ball had his very own story to share when he returned.

The star person lowered the brave, little ball onto the highest mountain. He thanked him and jumped onto the snow covered top. He could see everything from there. He paused and noticed the beauty of the night, the moon and the mountains. As he sat and listened, he could even hear the snow flakes as they fell on the ground.

After a short time searching, he saw it! The purple rock where his clan was. He knew he was close. Excitement filled his little, round body, and he began to make his way down.

With every hop, jump and roll, his heart jumped with joy. He felt great relief, knowing his journey was near its end. He was returning home stronger, and braver than before.

When the brave, little ball reached the bottom of the purple rock, he could see his father and others keeping watch for him. When they saw him in the distance they cheered. His father ran down to him and gave him the best hug he had. As his father carried him the rest of the way up the rock, news of his return quickly spread through the village.

The brave, little ball came to the edge of the rock and looked down upon his village. Family, friends, neighbors, young and old were all cheering and singing. They celebrated late into the night. There were large fires, music, and the clan heard the greatest adventure story they had ever heard. Everyone was happy to have their missing clan member back home.

When the brave, little ball returned home with his family, he was already asleep. His father put him into his bed, and said, "I am so proud of you. You are the bravest little ball I have ever known. And while you are small, you have a giant heart. And it will lead you through many more adventures I'm sure." The brave, little ball, with his eyes still shut, smiled, because he knew it was true. He was a brave, little ball.
