In this book, we’re going to talk all about religious festivals around the world. So, let’s get right to it!

Every religion has special feasts, festivals, and holidays to commemorate important religious events.

IMPORTANT ISLAMIC HOLIDAYS
In the western world, we follow a type of calendar known as the Gregorian calendar. The Islamic calendar is different. They also have 12 months, but their calendar is based on the phases of the moon so each month has at least 29 and at most 30 days.

Therefore, their calendar usually only has either 354 or 355 total days, instead of the 365 days in the Gregorian calendar. Because of the changing schedule of the moon, the dates of their holidays move each year, so they have no set dates.
