TO THE READER
Athens is Saved! is a story. It is based on history. The main events in the book really happened. But some of the details, such as Cimon’s name and his stutter are made up. I hope this makes the story more fun to read. I also hope that Athens is Saved! will get you interested in real history. When you have finished, perhaps you will want to find out more about Ancient Greece and the first marathon run.
