CHAPTER
I t started as a beautiful Saturday morning, but everything would change for Pork Chop Allie and the Cherry Berry Farm by the end of the day. There was once a time when scores of children would visit the farm on weekends, but now there was just the occasional lost school bus that would show up when they missed the turn for the Aquarium. Oh sure, Shirley the shark was spectacular just don’t try to pet her!
Once the school bus doors opened the excited voices of young children roared into the air and all of the animals would come out from the barn to greet them. For a few seconds they stuck to the roof of her mouth, and it seemed the only thing she could do to get them down was roll over and maybe they would fall down. And so she did, she rolled to the right, and then she rolled to the left, and then she just stayed upside down for a moment and scooted on her back to scratch and itch. By then the flavor of that peanut butter had ignited her senses and she was very delighted. She jumped to her feet and raced around her pen squealing with excitement. The kids all laughed so loudly that tears came from their eyes and Billy Baker actually shot milk from his nose like an elephant spraying water. It went right onto Karen Robbs hair! She screamed so loudly it startled everyone and Phil dropped another cookie but this time it rolled into the mud just down at the end of Allie’s pen. She leaped into the mud after it which sent a tsunam i
