FOREWORD
From a simple page taken out of a VBS activity book and left behind on a classroom table, came the inspiration for S P Ellingbee. The bumble bee on the page was so carefully colored in but somehow didn’t seem to have been given a name befitting the creature. In the mind of Vickie L. Detert, the story began and within a few minutes, his story and his song were complete. A few years passed and the story became a poem which she gladly shares with children of all ages that may need to be reminded that it is the God-given faith we have that makes us beautiful, regardless of how unique or different we may be in the eyes of others. BELIEVE!
There was once a special little bumble bee
who was different from most of his friends.
He was yellow with black stripes,
not yellow stripes on black.
