In Part II, he goes on to tell about the insightful friend who shows up to help him with his predicament. The two embrace a sweet teachable moment. This updated version of The Crazy Untamable, Tamable Tongue is whimsical and sensible. It is an enjoyable and fun story for all, with lessens that children will want to read, or have read to them over and over again. The story is unique in that it can be read with either part or chapter first.

Sometimes I can’t help the things that I say . . .
The words come out wrong and go astray.
Have YOU ever had such a day?

Some people might say,
on this particular day,
that my tongue went crazy,
when my mouth got lazy.
LET ME EXPLAIN …
I was feeling a little anxious and uptight.
Slightly touchy and impolite.
A little testy and unsure,
I guess I was feeling insecure.

But I was also feeling a little PROUD …
Obnoxious! Big! A goof and LOUD !
Fiery, grand, just, and right.
(I had a hard time being polite.)

My words were a little gruffy.
Not so puffy or fluffy.
You know?
The arrangement seemed wrong.
And my words came out strong.
Like a cold rushing river…

that made some people quiver !
(And shiver !)
