My First Piece of Jewelry
When I was a baby, mom gave me everything. At age four, I had pierced ears and brand new earrings. At age six, mom wanted to give me another piece of jewelry for my birthday. Sure enough, we found a small new jewelry store in our neighborhood that sold rings and other pieces for small children.
We took a brisk walk to the jewelry store. I looked through the rings and found a beautiful gold birth stone ring to buy. Mom purchased it right away and I wore it the next week
I wore it everywhere. It got really cold out and the ring lasted almost the whole winter. Then one day it happened. I couldn’t find the ring. It slipped off my finger and I couldn’t find it anywhere. I was crying for days. My mom was very upset also. She finally went back to the jeweler to replace the ring. We got a second ring. I did not wear it. We kept it in a special brown box that we never touched. It was our valuable box. To this day my birthday ring is still there. We loved it and never wanted to lose it again.
