Weather permitting Eli’s dad digs for quahogs, a rounded edible clam, in the shallow areas of the ocean. He dives for them and unearths them with his three pronged digger and collects them in sacks.
Packing up all his gear when he’s done is a big job. Frequently there are others at the dock that help him and he gives them a bucket of clams for their effort.
