SUMER Cradle of Civilization





Sumer is located in the southernmost part of Mesopotamia. It is the modern day Iraq. The Sumerians were established in southern Babylonia. It is situated between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. “Mesopotamia” is from the Greek words for the land between the rivers. It was over 7,000 years ago that the Sumerians inhabited Mesopotamia.
