One of the strangest creatures in the animal kingdom is the platypus. The appearance of a platypus is like a beaver which has a paddle-shaped tail; like an otter which has a sleek, furry body; and like a duck which has a webbed feet and flat bill.

Is a platypus a dangerous animal?
The platypus is one of the few mammals that has venom. On the back of the hind feet of male platypus are spurs that are connected to venom- secreting glands. During mating season, more venom is secreted.
