I n this book, we’re going to talk about the qualifications and role of the United States President. So, let’s get right to it!
A lthough there are lots of people involved in the government of the United States, there’s only one President. The job of United States President is very demanding.

T here are at least seven different types of roles that the President must fill every day. There are also certain qualifications that the Constitution specifies a Presidential candidate must have.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DOES A PRESIDENT NEED TO HAVE?
T he United States Constitution explains the exact requirements that an individual must have in order to become a presidential candidate. There are three basic requirements:
The candidate must be at least 35 years of age.
The candidate must have been born in the United States.
The candidate must have been a United States resident for a minimum of 14 years.
M ost Presidents have been 50 years old or older when they became elected. President John F. Kennedy was the youngest President ever elected.
