In this book, we’re going to talk about the country of Nepal. So, let’s get right to it!
WHERE IS NEPAL?
If you look at a map of southern Asia, you will see that the tiny country of Nepal is wedged in between the country of China and the country of India. It is a landlocked country with China to its north and India to its west, east, and south. The landmass of Nepal is 56,827 square miles, which is a little larger than Arkansas in the United States.

WHAT ARE THE GEOGRAPHIC AND NATURAL FEATURES OF NEPAL?
Around 10-15 million years in the past, the landmass known as India today collided with Asia. When that collision occurred, the enormous Himalayan Mountain range was formed. The country of Nepal has the greatest change in elevation than any other country on Earth.
It has sea-level lowlands, but it also has the tallest mountains on the Earth. Of the ten tallest mountains on Earth, eight of them are located in Nepal. The tallest, most majestic peak on our planet, Mount Everest, is in Nepal. It has an elevation of 29,035 feet.
