Description

"Bright Personality" is a satirical novella by Ilf and Petrov. The story revolves around a municipal employee named Egor Karlovich Filurin, who becomes invisible after using a special soap at a local bathhouse in the town of Pishcheslav. This development prompts significant changes in the town, as the residents abandon vices like drinking, nepotism, and profanity. Filurin is both revered and reviled for his invisible presence, leading to legal troubles. However, during a court hearing, his invisibility abruptly ends, revealing his true self. In the end, the town returns to normal, but it remains free of swindlers and con artists. Filurin's only lasting change is the disappearance of his freckles.
