Description

The natural juxtaposition of life from her youthful beginning, through adolescence and adulthood. She travels through the parallel society in which we live beside one another regardless of distance or miles apart. Listening to Kendrick Lamar or reading Nikki Giovanni, the message is clear: we need each other to thrive and create a world of first, as this book is a first of its kind to interlope the great cosmic divide. There is a spiritual connection, as Albert Einstein's poetry suggests that all human beings are interconnected by the simplest threads of life in the universe that we have yet to discover. Stephen Hawking's greatest triumph was mind over matter that gave the world so much of his mind in response to debilitating disease.

About the Author
Sharon Smith is a single Black American, born and living in California. She is a graduate of Metropolitan Business and Vocational College. She has a State of California Realtor license. She is also an antique and collectibles researcher, and a parent and grandparent.
Writing is a passion used to express her independent thinking; and juxtaposed relationships. She also enjoys art, music, dancing, cooking and old movies amongst other things. She is an avid collector of old items and recently had an article about an Early American Pewter Coffee Pot she acquired written up in the magazine; Antique Trader as a publication favourite. She has several poems published in anthologies in America and abroad. She has attended numerous writing conferences and studied writing for many years. Her personal message to you is to love life and enjoy life to the fullest, for you never know when the circumstances will change forever losing the hope of realising your dreams and expectations for the future.
Her homeless time gave her insight into what human character really is and how to make herself a better ’ Homosapien’ . It is possible for one to investigate the mirror of life and see what they do not want to become, and she saw that and was saddened by the human condition that she lived in and left. Not that she suddenly hit the lottery, but felt that she progressed considerably to have a domicile of her own just outside of Skid Row and pays her own rent. She plays a poetry puzzle game she invented and hopes to market someday; but would like to share it with you because it is important to her and has helped her remain assertive, confident and have a good attitude through tough times. It is a nine-word poem of encouragement, creativity and motivation. The use of repetition as reinforcement is central to the effectiveness of the ERG poem. The term ERG means work according to Webster’s Collegiate dictionary.

Foreword
Lonely Women is a book of poetry and short writings about personal experiences, some experiences beyond the realm of tangibility, beyond the normal character of life as we have known. It is partly in form of verse and short essay. From a woman who is mystified by her own life, her existence is material, but her psyche is worldly and in her thoughts, she lives between the two. Some say madness is her calling, but she has defied the mundane and risen to articulate this sometimes-exciting experiential life into a riveting book of poetry and philosophy about life.
She says, “I am a woman and I love, feel pain and hurt, cry and experience happiness and joy the same way as other women,” but she doesn’t always have the same emotional responses when she has occasion to encounter the same feelings as others have. She feels she is hypersensitive and deeply affected by the stresses of daily life. Feeling a deeper enlightenment in the world is an eclectic and intellectual form of understanding. In other words, she takes it as it comes—interactive action is dictated by intellectual knowledge, so if she does not know and there is nothing to explain, she deals with the situation as best as she knows—within the ethical boundaries that she can control. That is a rather limiting life stage, but she manages somehow with discipline as a positive reaction.
The spoken words or thoughts; from sentient beings the ‘ Homo Sapien ’ in the primal beginnings, the surrounding lowlands and savannas somewhere east of Eden—diverged; from a fountain head, which came from a powerful source. A vision not able to be seen; or words uttered but strong yearnings beyond our imaginations suddenly spoke and language began and it pleased them.
Was this the first form of discernible communication? Before that, it was a combination of grunts and groans. Since the first hominid remains were found in Africa, I felt that it was fitting to say that inclusivity is a wonderful word in any way that we choose to use it.
There is a philosophical expectation in the poetry to, in some way, articulate the psychic diaspora in a cultural juxtaposition with her personal experiential life in Western civilisation with the convergence of global communication and applied technology, as the internet allows more freedom and accessibility to people of all ethnicities and national origin.
She states that the poetry that she writes is neither Black, White, African American, Latino or Asian, but is a cumulative melding of a communication thesis. It is a language, a human dialect of experiences that is not confined to any one race or ethnicity.
As her soul reached for renewal and enlivenment, she saw an added dimension making her vision deeper. She is saying through the years, experiences have been for the most part positive and some negative, but she has been privileged to learn from all of them. That makes her life worthwhile and productive because these experiences can be shared with others, who read her words and can share her vision.
She believes the life forces of the human ego live forever. The discipline of physics portends that the universe is comprised of the minute remnants from the beginning of time itself. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could somehow implode the universe to its exact configuration, to the very moment of the Big Bang (by computer simulation) to find our origin in outer space, the beginnings of life? The great ones before us left a legacy that returns to the beginning of life and recycles itself to propel our life force and planet; some say that it is love that makes the world go around. The cosmic ego (ERG – work) tries to guide and lead those who have the mindset to harness the essence of creativity and positive work. The opposite of course would be the negative, hence the (–) elemental force (ERG – work).
To properly explore the powers that be, we must look at one of the many splendored things in life—LOVE. So beautiful, glorious and fulfilling LOVE we all crave the emotions, the gentle touch upon the face and the wildest excitement. The four loves that we, as civilised human beings, share are: family, friend, Eros and the love for God—the higher power. This book delves into many aspects of love that the sentient human experiences and needs to survive in this trying world.
The faceted elements that comprise this book are diverse and possibly shocking, but they are part of our parallel world that is emerging. Because she has experienced this emergence, she felt a need to introduce you to the ERG. Incidentally, if you look up ERG in Webster’s Dictionary, you will find that it is defined as ‘WORK’.
The fire and ice of cultural disparity is one reason why this book of poetry is so different, it addresses many different genres in poetic verse. The experimental poetry that is written is a cultural exposition that I am grateful to be able to articulate. I truly hope that you can share my vision and enjoy the various liaisons of culture that you will experience in this book.
She has tried to capture the truth of experiences through creative processes and experiments with writing from a cultural exposition that would typically be impossible. Some of the poems were written when she was a Christian and were published in anthologies nationally and internationally.
Please enjoy the book!
Thank you.
The Dark Side
Cry, my lovely, cry
Punishment I have endured
But I can never cry
Do you think I am wrong for feeling anger?
How else can I deny your dark side?
You call this an exciting tryst for
Your passionate juxtaposition
My feelings never matter
I have written words with no meaning
For a similar fate
A dark side of no rebate
Cry, my lovely, cry
Anger without tears
Punishment I have endured
Cry, I can ne
