Description

Love scenes wearing movie costumes-a hot romance with a playlist! Ex-cop Catrina Turner is lonely. After a traumatic recovery dive she quit the force and ran away to remote Muskoka with Titan, her retired police dog. They provide winter security for luxury lake houses owned by rich celebrities. Her PTSD, a closely-held secret, makes a relationship impossible...until a handsome visitor makes a tempting proposal. Screenwriter Chett de Groot needs a hit to save his career. He accepts a film star's offer to use her secluded lake house as a winter writing retreat, and discovers a closet full of her old movie costumes. Bored, freezing in Muskoka and desperate for inspiration, Chett entices the beautiful security guard to wear costumes and role-play in seduction scenes. They discover how satisfying acting can be. Soon Catrina is ad-libbing passionate lines in scorching "performances" that knock Chett's thermal socks off. A film producer makes Chett an offer that will put him back in the game. But if Catrina finds out what Chett did to close the deal, will he lose her forever? Catrina's path to love and healing is Book 2 in the Hollywood in Muskoka series. This curl-your-toes romance can be read as a stand-alone short novel.

Review
Catrina Turner has left the Ontario Police Force’s Marine Division seeking the solitude and quiet life offered by isolated Lake Muskoka. Though she barely admits it to herself, she is running from the past. Unfortunately, she can’t quite outrun the nightmares that haunt her sleep. Chett de Groot, a Hollywood screenwriter whose career has taken a nosedive, holes up in an actress friend’s holiday house on the lake. He has to write a blockbuster screenplay to save his career.
Neither Cat nor Chett has any interest in a relationship—especially since Cat comes as a package deal with a huge German shepherd and Chett is afraid of dogs. Attraction wins out, but will Cat’s inner traumas (and her big-ass dog) and Chett’s drive to get back on top in Hollywood keep them from going beyond a quick affair?
Seduced by the Screenwriter gives the reader a real taste of the frosty environs of wintertime Ontario with its snow, frozen lake and frigid weather. Cat, a native, takes it in stride, but Chett, from Hollywood, really feels the chill.
Cat and Chett’s characters are well developed, drawing the reader into their individual plights, while their campy banter keeps the story light and downright fun. Ms. Morgan keeps the plot moving with humorous situations and dialogue interspersed with exciting and poignant drama. A good read for a snowy afternoon.

5 stars! This Romantic Dramedy is wonderfully written. Catrina is both beautiful and flawed, strong in spite of the past horrors. While not as lighthearted as Caught on Camera , it still manages to read like your favorite movie you keep in your DVD collection. Seduced by the Screenwriter has found a home in my library.

I’m very grateful to several people who made this a better book. Lillian Chow was the story editor. Her screenwriting training and insightful input after the initial draft kept me on track. Beta reader Erin Scothorn, an author, indicated where I needed to sharpen Catrina’s empowerment journey and the characters’ motivations.
Retired police officer Marlene M. provided valuable information on Ontario police procedures and police service dogs.
I’m very lucky to have a talented publishing team. Awesome editor Michelle Demers (mademers.com) has experience in the North American film industry. Any factual errors are my own. Kimberly Killion (thekilliongroupinc.com) created the hot cover as well as the brand for the series. Tamara Cribley (deliberatepage.com) did the formatting and print interior.

Chapter 1
Baby, It’s Cold Outside
A knee-deep layer of fresh snow blocked the long laneway to the five-thousand-square-foot lake house owned by Catrina’s most important client, Jenna Jordan, Hollywood movie star.
“It’s our lucky day! The plow hasn’t been by yet. I’ll need the snowshoes, Titan,” Catrina informed her German shepherd, who wagged his tail at the thrum of pleasure in her voice. She reached into the cargo area of her beat-up SUV to fish out new aluminum frames.
The awkward foot extensions firmly attached, her down parka zipped, Catrina adopted a wide stance and swung her legs forward, each step a delight as the snowshoe sank a couple of inches into powder. Titan bounded ahead to sniff the tracks of rabbits and deer. Pine and spruce branches sagged with sparkling snow.
The crisp, sunny early January day, the pristine forest, the opportunity to fill her lungs with pure air—they all validated her decision to quit her job as a Toronto Police constable in order to provide security services to millionaire owners of exclusive waterfront properties on Lake Muskoka, Canada’s summer playground for the fabulously rich and famous.
No boss. No shifts. No traffic!
Her fledgling stress-free business amounted to a paid vacation year round. So far she had security contracts with ten clients and enough income to pay the bills. Her big break came the previous summer when Jenna signed on as a client after firing the security guard who’d helped himself to several bottles in the wine cellar and let mice roam the interior.
Feeling pleased with the peaceful life she’d crea
