The inspiration behind many of these poems all retain to loss, the last three years of my life has led me to interesting places. Through these places I was confronted with many forms of loss. Loss of relationships, loss of self esteem and ultimately the loss of what I felt I should be. I also hope many will appreciate the romantic aspects I put into my work. I find that often it's the loss of a lover that drives most men into dark corners. And as a man I long for the one that catches my soul. So if you feel the loss, I hope you join me in enjoying this simple tome. Each poem is crafted with love. And woven from a tear, It is here for you if you need it.
And for a few were added by my dear cousin Sabrina Harrison, her creative flair to her own writing made me feel proud to call her family. I'd also liek to add a thank you to a few people. Like my mother Penny, My step father, Dick, My little sister, Jayla, My brother, Daniel, My other sister Kate, A dear friend of Mine, Country boy or Colins’, an everyone I've lost in the past three years. I miss you, aunt Amber an Mrs blue. Skyler I'm sorry we never made that game of DND. I hope you are well in heaven.

Grandma, this book is mainly centered around the feeling of grief. Many of which I poured every ounce of my heart into making. I hope if ever in your lives you feel this way, you’ll pick up this book. Not to guide you from grief. For we all sometimes need the pain to remind us that we live, not forever. But to cherish every life, every moment. So thank you, for taking time to read mourning rain.
Special thanks to you God, for every pain, every day without sleep, and for every tear that I’ve ever shed.for every time I’ve fallen down, for every broken heart and shattered dream. I hold with me my treasure,
A value which no gold can measure,
An ever if you look an see,
An iron key my father forged for me,
 
No chest or locks are opened by this key,
But my fingertips grasp it with joyful glee,
 
Those memories made upon that hill,
Memories of home are with me still,
