About the Book
In her first book, Anoushka is presenting a selection of fifty-seven poems written over the past four years. The reader will find her reflections, thoughts and insights on a range of topics such as nature, her dreams, her family and interesting daily experiences.

The choice of the original poem themes, the ideas, the words, as well as the selection and editing of this book, was entirely done by Anoushka over the past year.

A select few poems have been brought to life with vibrant illustration by the talented Tejas Modak, who also is a poet, screenwriter and an acclaimed artist from Pune, India.

Hopefully this book will present a delightful journey of a little girl’s mind as she is growing up and interpreting the life around her, in her own words.
Brief Introduction to Anoushka
Anoushka is an eleven-year-old girl from Berkshire, UK, who enjoys music, creative writing, travelling and nature. She also is concerned about the impact of climate change and has recently launched a small online business. She designs and sells T-shirts with environment-supporting messages. She donates all the profits from this business to environmental charities.

Anoushka has a passion for poetry and she has been writing poems for pleasure since she was six years old. She often writes about nature, her dreams, her family and interesting experiences.

She dreams of becoming a pilot when she grows up but intends to keep writing poems in her leisure time.



Brief Introduction to Tejas
Tejas Modak is an artist and writer based in Pune, India. He makes comics, illustrates, paints, and writes screenplays for films. His first graphic novel, Private-Eye Anonymous: The Art Gallery Case was published in India by Westland Books in 2018.

Tejas has since illustrated another graphic novel, Animal Palette , as well as a few picture books.
He’s already grown up and can’t dream of becoming a pilot anymore like Anoushka but is quite happy doing what he does.

As I Grow Up
I started off as a baby in a tiny cot,
My dear grandparents played with me a lot.

But as I was still tiny, the world seemed big to me,
And as I was so small, I thought giants surrounded me!

And as I grew older, I played with my mum,
Everyone thought I was as sweet as a plum.

Everyone loved me and I know they still do,
Even if I sucked my fingers and played with my food!

And now I am a big girl, I have grown big and strong,
I am so clever to have made up this song!
