I give thanks and gratitude to the Lord of creation for enriching my life with a series of lessons and thereupon inspiring me all the necessary thoughts that constitute the core of this works.
Foreword
The Martinican poet Aime Cesair once quoted: “My mouth will be the mouth of the misfortunes that have no mouth; my voice, the freedom of those who are sinking in the dungeon of despair.
I dedicate this book to all the orphans of father and/or of mother. To the widowers and widows, to all those who are nailed on hospitals beds, and to all of the sick in general. To all the hungry people who languish in the ghettos around the world, particularly in Africa, the land of my origins, the cradle of humanity, and who dream and aspire to see and live in happy days. To all the victims of poverty and misery in this world full of riches and resources, enough to feed all of us. To anyone who is in any sorrowful, painful, and desperate situation. To the prisoners. To the prostitutes. About the adulterer lady, Jesus Christ proposed in John 8:7 that: “He that is without sin amongst you, let him first cast a stone at her.” The Prophets Mohammad teaches in the Quran 64:14: “O you who believe! Indeed, some of your children and spouses are sinners. But if you pardon, overlook, and forgive their faults then verily, Allah is Truly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” And the illustrious Mahatma Gandhi followed up and said: “Do not love and encourage the sin but embrace the sinner”. If by chance you ever happen to read this book and relate to any of the categories above mentioned, know that you are unconditonally my brother, my sister, my mother, my father, and also my friend. May you feel loved, valued, strengthened, encouraged, and motivated to take the necessary resolutions and do not wait to make the right decision that will change your current situation for a better future.
1 – Introduction
I deeply regret and deplore the sudden death of the many victims of Covid-19, and I share the sorrows of the current patients of this lethal virus. This pandemic alone has turned the whole world upside down. The global economy has collapsed, companies have closed their doors and many are those who have lost their jobs.
Worse still, we shall undoubtedly endure the dire consequences of the said pandemic through a long period of time. My sincere condolences to the families of the deceased. To the latest, I wish a peaceful rest. My encouragements go to the address of all of those who are currently infected with the virus. Keep holding on and stay strong for better days ahead.
During the lockdown period of the early 2020 in the United Arab Emirates, I spent a lot of time through that inactive trimester in meditation and deep soul-searching. I realized quite a bit about different facets of this fast-moving life. Each day goes by so quick, like the cactus flower that blooms so sharply overnight and fades without warning in the morning.
The urgency of this realization gave birth to a great desire that I have had in me since my childhood, to want to express my thoughts and vision through poetry.
In this time of reflection I was inspired by my own ideas, coupled with the universal and individual circumstances of life itself, and I have thus far written more than 300 poems, covering several aspects of human life, which I intend to publish as things progress and as long as the means are at my disposition for the purpose.
Allow me to point out that this first collection of 50 and 1 poem mainly roots itself on motivation and education, for both adults, teenagers as well as the youngest folks, anywhere, in every field of life. Everyone I believe will find something beneficiary for his/her own uplifting and improvement, but also, and mostly for the sake of the society in its whole and that of the world thereon.
By predilection, I thought it nice to express my ideas through verses that end with rhymes. My intention is to produce that rhythmic effect in the psyche of the readers, as they go through the lines of this book.
Please, as you go through this book, I kindly invite you to reconsider the fact that this is my first one, and my first step in this prestigious field of writing; that of the art of poetry, just to be specific. Therefore, take note of any incoherence and feel very encouraged to reach out and give me your feedback for my own amelioration and advancement as an author.
Also consider that I am fundamentally a French speaker. Therefore my English might not be as smooth as you may expect. In the meantime, I wish you a pleasant reading of my first book.
2 – Honor Your Mother and Your Father
Throughout life you will meet one person or another;
But none of them can ever replace your mother;
A mother is always gentle like a dove;
Nothing on earth equates a mother’s love;
A mother’s love is so sweet and tender;
A mother’s love isn’t about the gender;
Your mother is always your defender;
Your mother would challenge the flames;
To save you and all of your names;
She would brave the tallest building;
To get for her child the yummiest feeding;
A mother’s love is the closest thing to God;
Just like God protects us with his rod;
She would give her life to save her child;
Towards your mother, be meek and mild;
The love of a mother is so powerful;
And her smile is bright and colorful;
The love of a mother is as wonderful;
As her ways towards her child are merciful;
A mother would roar like a wounded lion;
To save her child from the trap of iron;
To live a blessed life, just honor your mother;
Always obey her alongside your father.
