PREFACE
A small poem consists of the inner feelings of a person condensed in verse. It displays innocence and sweetness, when written by a school-going child. Children express their thoughts, emotions, likes, dislikes and other innermost feelings in a free and frank manner. Most of the small poems compiled in this book are written by schoolchildren, besides some by famous poets. I have made a few small changes and have also included a few poems of my own. When small children express their thoughts and feelings in verse, these come straight from their hearts. They try to say what they actually feel inside without any fear or favour. The poems included in this book cover a wide variety of subjects which encompass feelings of love for their parents, teachers, companions, country and expression of interest in things which they come across amidst their childhood and school environment. Coming from the hearts and minds of innocent children, these poems will no doubt provide a spontaneous source of delight, amusement, information, education and general pleasure.
I am confident that this compilation of sweet and educative poems will be welcomed by students, their teachers and parents besides the general readers.
Since, it is a collective effort by the school students, some of the poems maybe a little sarcastic or humorous in nature, but they are all intended for fun and shotdd be taken lightly by our esteemed readers.
